For Students who have an IEP a teacher or School Psychologist may complete a Level 2 Behavior Support Plan for a student.
A level 2 Behavior Support Plan is:
Teacher Interview
A definition of the problem behavior and replacement behavior that is measurable and observable. Obtained by a review of records and/or asking the teacher questions.
Baseline frequency:
Direct assessment methods ( ABC, Time Sample)
Indirect Assessments - (PowerSchool logs, work samples etc.)
A hypothesis statement is made about the possible function
Antecedent Interventions are often selected from pre-written list for the student and based on the hypothesized function of the challenging behavior. For a Level 2 BSP antecedent strategies should be those strategies that can be done in the classroom or can be provided through access services and supports outside of the classroom.
Write at least one goal for challenging behavior reduction and one goal for a skill increase or new skill.
Monitoring of the Level 2 BSP is done by the teacher and any supplementary service provider.
