The Week of September 26

Post date: Sep 23, 2016 7:3:47 PM

I can't believe that we are at the end of September. In some ways we are exactly were we should be as 2nd graders and in other ways we are still spending class time on routines that we should have mastered at this point in the year. But we will forge ahead!

Next week in reading we will be working on Visualizing. We have informally talked about this during our read aloud time, but this will be the formal lesson on making that picture in our minds. We will also be talking about predictions and working on "I wonder..." Again we have talked about both informally.

Expect to see homework more regularly next week for math. I have planned (at this point) for math homework Monday - Thursday of next week. That is subject to change. We are continuing our work on addition, but will also discuss turn-around facts (3 + 5 and 5 + 3) and Fact Families.

Have a good week!
