How Picasa uses a Google Account
Connecting Picasa to your Google Account
Even though Picasa is running on your computer, it has many feature that allow it to use the power of the Internet for sharing and sending photos. Here are some things you can do if you setup Picasa to use a Google Account:
Controlled sharing through Google Plus and Picasa Web Albums
Easily Send Photos via Gmail
Face Tag integration with your Google Contacts
If you don't have a Google Account, you will not be able to use these online features of Picasa. If you want to set one up, review our tutorial on how to Create a Google Account.
Otherwise, to connect with your Google Account, use the following steps to sign in:
Click on the Sign in link at the top right of the Picasa Library view
Sign in with your Google (Gmail) Login and password.
Picasa will now remember this setting and display your account information at the top right of the screen.
