Social Studies

5th grade students will study the development of our nation up to 1850, with an emphasis on those who were already here and others who arrived. We will study colonial government and recognize that our nation has a constitution, has gone through a revolution and experienced a westward movement. Students will understand the cause, course, and consequences of the War for Independence and western expansion.
