This is the third course in the Medical Pathway at ECV. The purpose of the course is to provide students with a better understanding of how the human body functions. Students will complete projects related to anatomy, physiology, health, and medicine to learn about careers, and build presentation skills. There is a large focus on a variety of dissections including a pig, a sheep brain, a sheep eye, a sheep heart, and a cat or a mink.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify anatomical landmarks
2. Understand the function of each body system and how they integrate to work together
3. Understand how maintaining our health influences physiology
4. Understand the underlying pathology of disorders in body systems
5. Understand that anatomy and physiology are interwoven and interdependent
