Healthcare Exploration Summer Institute
Each year, the HESI interns come into the hospital expecting to observe medical professionals and explore different professions in healthcare. Never could the students expect such a warm welcome from the staff as they received.
The staff at Sharp Grossmont Hospital generously donates their time each year to help the next generation of medical professionals explore the many facets of healthcare. They bring the Sharp Experience to life for these students and make them feel welcome as they are introduced to the hospital.
Thank you to the teachers of these students. Our students are well prepared for this program by the instructors of their Medical Pathway courses, which helps them to gain the most from this experience. To the family members who support our students through one of their most rigorous learning experiences, thank you for your time and patience.
June - July
Our 11th annual Healthcare Exploration Summer Institute (HESI) program is underway! The 15 intern students have spent three days learning about the Sharp Experience, patient rights, healthcare-related skills, and career readiness in preparation for spending time in 14 different hospital departments over the next 3 weeks. Thank you Sharp Grossmont Hospital for hosting our students and providing this life changing experience!
