Section 1 - The blood
1. Know the functions of plasma and the cell types (formed elements) of blood.
2. Know the difference between different blood types (A, B, O) and the rules for blood transplants between the different types. Be able to do a Punnett square for blood type determination.
Section 2 - The blood vessels
3. Know the differences in the structure, functions and direction of blood flow in the different types of blood vessels.
4. Know the function of valves in veins.
5. Know the direction of flow, the pressure level, the oxygenation level (oxygenated or deoxygentated), and the speed of blood flow in different regions of the vasculature.
6. Know the major veins and arteries.
Section 3 - The heart
7. Know the structure of the heart and the direction of blood flow through its chambers. Be able to identify major structures of a heart.
