With the new GDS email system, which has been implemented in the latest GDS updates, you are now able to link the sent emails from GDS to your own email accounts Sent Items.Following the installation of the new updates, you may find that the error message "ActiveX component can't create object", as shown to the right, is now being displayed when you are trying to email. You will need to follow the steps below to activate/install the new email DLL file in order to fix this error.
To fix the error, you will have to go to the log in screen of GDS. Above the Username and Password there is a blue bar which says 'Good Morning/Afternoon. Please enter your login details below.' If you click on there, you will get some extra options in a popup menu. There is a new option to 'Install Loan Car/Email DLL's on Vista/Windows 7...' If you select that option, it should register the new Email DLL and resolve the error.
If the problem still exists, you may have to run GDS as an Administrator. To do this, you can right click on your GDS Workshop Manager shortcut to display a popup menu. You will have an option to 'Run as administrator'. If you click on there then try the option to 'Install Loan Car/Email DLL's on Vista/Windows 7...'again, it should work fine after this.
You will have to do this on every computer running GDS that displays an error message when trying to send an email.
