In a recent update, we have added a new feature to our Bookings Diary which gives the ability to cancel a booking.
With the original Diary, the only thing that could be done for a customer booking that decided against it, was to delete the booking or change the date to a future date and time. However, deleting would eliminate all trace of the original booking and the booking number would be lost.
There is now an extra option on the toolbar to cancel the booking.
You can also right click the booking from the list and click to cancel booking.
When a booking is cancelled, the following will happen:
Applies a 'Cancelled' status to it which shows in the Status column for that booking in the grid. (See Colour Coded Jobsheets for customising statuses and colours)
The number of bookings for that day on the top right monthly view will decrease by 1 (The small number under the day of the month)
SMS Booking Reminders for the booking will not be sent.
Any assigned mechanics hours will be freed up to be used on other bookings due for that day.
Example below of a cancelled booking:
As you can see, the status is set to cancelled, and the number has gone from under the day on the diary overview on the top right of the screenshot.
There is an ability to restore the booking and uncancel it by right-clicking the booking in the list and clicking the 'Restore Cancelled Booking' option.
You can also edit the booking and uncheck the "Cancelled" checkbox or change the status to anything other than cancelled.
