Short guide about the GDS eVHC App
The job of doing a Vehicle Health Check is very much standard practice now at main dealers when service work is carried out. Such checks can give the customer piece of mind that their vehicle has been thoroughly checked, and also highlight issues which may become problems in the future, or which require more urgent attention at the vehicles' current visit.
Carrying out Vehicle Health Check and generating a report for your customer can result in maintenance work being discovered and this can generate your business more revenue.
GDS has had the Vehicle Health Check reporting feature for over 10 years now. This allows you to record and then print off or email a check sheet. You can record a follow up date and also us it to quote for works that may need doing.
As an extension to this module, GDS also offer an eVHC mobile app to our customers that will work alongside GDS products. It will allow your technicians to go around the vehicles, app in hand on their phones or tablets, and create check sheets for the vehicle, eliminating the need to write the report down on paper, and then transfer it onto the computer afterwards which can take up a substantial amount of time.
The app should be able to be used on any tablets or smartphones running iOS or Android.
Check sheets on GDS will be synchronised to the eVHC app and vice versa. The app will link to your GDS system and you will be able to choose from your full list of customers and vehicles that you have in your GDS customer database.
Please see the user guide below to help you get started once you have downloaded the app.
How to download and activate the eVHC app:
1. Download the eVHC app from the Google Play Store or iOS App Store by searching 'GDS eVHC'.

The Check Sheets list shows you the check sheets that are in progress and details of them including the vehicle reg, type of VHC and what the check sheet ID of it is, so you can find the correct one when viewing on a computer with GDS installed.
The following screens display diagrams used to add damage points or marks/scratches to vehicles that you are completing a check sheet for. You tap on the corresponding part of the vehicle (boot, bonnet, windscreen etc) and add the damage point type, details and pictures/images of the affected area and click the save button.
The screenshot on the right is displayed after you have added in the customers, vehicles, mileage details and damage points for the vehicles. On this screen you select the correct indicator, red amber, green or N/A and attach a screenshot by pressing on the camera icon on the top left, you can then attach an image from your camera roll or take a new picture using the phone's camera.
Once you save past this screen, the app will give you a preview of the check sheet including all the details and images of the check sheet parts.
At this point, the app will sync the check sheet into your GDS system and allow you to view any images or details that you have added onto the check sheet while using the eVHC app.
