Due to extremely restricted parking at the Clevenger Canyon end of this trail, it is highly recommended that hikers either hike in from the Pamo Valley end or that they be dropped at the Clevenger Canyon end so that they can then hike through to Pamo Valley.

The author of this text was dropped off at the Clevenger Canyon end and hiked through to the Pamo Valley end. The trail is routed over a system of old roads. The roads are heavily gated, so no vehicular traffic should be encountered.

Hiking from the Clevenger Canyon end, hikers will descend into the canyon to just above Santa Ysabel Creek and then will ascend back out of the canyon with Santa Ysabel Creek flowing below. Hikers will spend 2.3 miles descending 840' and 2.1 miles climbing 892'. Easy.
