Excursions within the San Dieguito River Park are the basis of this Exploring Our Sense Of Place seminar series. The flow of a typical Excursion is:
One week prior you will receive a reminder email.
The Friday evening prior you will receive a reminder email. If the Excursion will be postponed (typically due to weather) or there are last minute changes, you will be notified via this email.
We all meet. The programs begin at 9:00 a.m. The January, February, March, and April Excursions will include the ESP Café at the beginning of the day.
The Expert(s) for the day will give a presentation.
We will then all proceed to the trail where the Expert(s) will both lead and teach.
We will stop for lunch (20 minutes).
We will all participate in Reflection time (20-30 minutes).
Those who wish to participate in the additional excursion will continue on.
Those who wish to return to their vehicles will do so.
Participants in the program will hike between 15 and 45 miles in all 'zones' of the San Dieguito River Park spanning the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons.
The times listed for ending the excursions are approximate. It is best not to plan an event in the evening after the hike before 6:30 pm.
Excursions will not be cancelled due to light rain. The dates may be subject to change if weather, wild fires, or other unforeseen circumstances cause a delay.
