Mr. Adam Niesley (B.A. Anthropological Archaeology, CSUSM) is the SDAC’s Public Archaeology Director and has experience in both the archaeological and educational fields. He is a volunteer field archaeologist with the Rio Frio Regional Archaeological Project in Belize and is currently an interpretive site steward for multiple post/pre-contact sites in the Anza Borrego desert region with the Colorado Desert Archaeological Society. Mr. Niesley has worked previously at the San Diego Museum of Us designing K-12 programming and has been a vocal advocate for broadening public science education for the past 15 years. At the SDAC, Mr. Niesley introduces the science of archaeology in a knowledgeable, and digestible format for the K-12 field trip groups, and is regularly complemented on programming and educational standards by both teachers and students. He has delivered over 450 public programs to over 9,000 people during his two years at the SDAC.
