Slader Buck grew up in southern California roaming through our many habitats. He spent his 35 year professional career in Natural Resources as a Wildlife Biologist and Head of the Natural Resources Division on Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, and as the Deputy Project Leader for the San Diego National Wildlife Refuge Complex, much of which involved managing southern California endangered birds such as the California Least tern, Least Bell's vireo, Ridgway's rail and others. He has been bird watching since his teens (loooooong ago.....). He served six years on the Conservancy Board of Directors and is currently an Advisory Board Member.Â
