Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Wiring
Wire labeling and documentation in progress
AC power distribution blocks added
Color detection
Calibration in progress. Electrical tape on base plates is inconsistent: trying out spray paint
Gauge holder
Reotemp machine shop finished a few sets of parts; team was able to test fit a few holders
Gravity roller curve tables
Parts for 2nd curved track arriving on Tuesday
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Wiring
Noticed significant issues with previous team's wiring
Additions/edits to wiring diagram so that it reflects all physical wiring
Spoke to sponsor, they will have their engineers clean it up when we are done
Color sensor
Attempted calibration using electrical tape, was too inconsistent and too shiny
Calibration is accurate for red, yellow, and orange spray paint (more colors to test next week)
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Finish construction of conveyor loop (Desi, Elaine, Ethan)
Implement temperature probe into heating system (Ethan)
Add new components to AC power distribution (Elaine, Desi)
Create detailed system testing plan (Justin)
Finish spray painting gauge holder baseplates and calibrating sensor (Ethan)
Fully assemble 6 more gauge stands (Ethan)
Review team report, website, and upcoming presentations (Team)

5/22/2020 Meeting with Eric & Brian:
Temperature probe will be ready sometime next week
Will have parts for 6 holder stands ready to test fit that day (Friday)
Wiring Diagram:
Haven’t had their engineers fully look into the wiring part; will make note of that and have someone clean that up in the back end.
Final design review:
6/5 same time as normal meeting time (8:00am)
Will invite other members including the Houston team
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
5/21/2020 Meeting with Prof. Tustaniwskyj:
CONCLUSION: The entire system needs to be reviewed and brought up to code but we don’t have the time to go through and do that ourselves right now
All new wiring for Arduino will be done using crimps
Bought a robust case for the Arduino
Will be implementing some AC power distribution blocks to add in the Arduino power
Will be adding on to existing wiring diagram and making sure our parts are accurate and well documented but not checking everything existing
Starting a wire list documentation but only for new additions
Team is not going back and documenting what is already there or fixing it up
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Comments from Preliminary Design Review Presentation (5/18/2020):
Improve information flow diagram (Slide 12)
Too much content on some slides; hard to follow
More analysis and testing
Risks and Areas of Concern
Time crunch, may not be able to get color detection system fully integrated in time
Calibration and sensitivity testing needed
Somewhat involved wiring process (I/O board needs power, connections to PLC module, connection to sensor)
PLC code is done, but will likely need some time to debug
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Schedule
Final presentation scheduled for 6/5 at 8:00am
Updated Gantt chart.
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Total spent: $5,586.54
Remaining: $4,413.46
Progress on Report and Webpage
Made significant additions to the report for Week 8 Draft
Slight updates to web page
