Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc
Updated CAD of Pre-built/DIY unloading/loading system
Power Belt FBD analysis completed
Guided Rail FBD analysis completed
Performed tests for sensor position accuracy (aluminum/steel plate)
maximum +/- 5mm position error
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Got quotes for CNC "pillow" holders
Made contact with MAE 156B Winter Team
Established objectives: Power Belt, Increase flow rate
Established secondary objectives: Automated gauge size detection, other fluid
Set objectives' timeline
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Start purchasing hardware for Loading/Unloading (Elaine, Desi)
Find and purchase the right stepper motor /upgraded PLC (Justin)
Research mechanism for heated glycerin/flexible z-axis nozzle
Finalize analysis for curved rollers (Ethan)
Start purchasing powered conveyor (Ethan)

4/3/2020
Sponsor allows us to take the hardware + glycerol back home
Sponsor recommends on removing the funnel for faster fill rate
Only has drawings for metal base plate and top part of the gauge holder
Prefers smaller footprint (DIY roller option)
May put in order for 12 gauge holders, ideally in 2 weeks (TBA)
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
4/1/2020
Gave us access to winter quarter website and report
General reminder of adjustments (social distancing, school policy) due to the virus
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)

Risks and Areas of Concern
Uncertainty due to DIY guiding rails (will realistic friction be too high from the sheet metal? can we make it with a 45 degree angle? If not, what's the tolerated angle or curve that will actually perform the task?)
Mechanism that allows for loading to guarantee spacing in between each gauge holder (if they're all attached, the sensor mechanism will not work)
