156B Week 4

Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.

• • Working with the new RC to Opamp circit for current control for our prototype.

  • Ran into issues setting up VLC streaming thus delaying Week 4 goal of having set-up a streaming test run. Troubleshooting by consulting Wanfang's dad (who has network experience). (hypothesize problem to be some sort of firewall/windows/network issue)

Accomplishments from Previous Week

• • Met with Steve Roberts and change the layout of our circuit to use the Arduino as the control into a RC circuit and then into an Opamp

  • discovered how to decrease latency (use UDP streaming protocol instead of RTSP, decrease default 1s buffering delay, decrease default buffer size)

Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.

• • Test the Opamp circuit connected with the RC and Arduino to understand the relationship between the Arduino PMW levels and the current levels that would be going to the LEDs (Robert and Lihua)

  • [Wanfang] finish last week's goal of setting up VLC streaming.

    • Proposed several tests for us to do when the prototype is operational. (dark adjusted eye, light adjusted eye, are pupil responses linear for everyone or for some people, is the LED intensity level change linear or not) 

    • We also learned that there are many factors to controlling the pupil size but in general the pupil is smaller toward the end of the day. (but we may want to test this for ourselves to see if it is truly significant for testing purposes and the long term use of this device)
