Robert's finishing up testing different color lights for pupil response
Jessica's catching up on the current vision matlab software
Lihua is finishing up testing stacking LEDs together for finding distance to eye and number of LEDs for prototype. Also researching different light sensors do we can collect light data for design experiments.
Wanfang is working on vision code to detect the circular pupil
Accomplishments from previous week:
roughly tested red, yellow, and green LEDs from 16cm from eye and found out red was able to induce greatest range of pupil constriction. Identified flicker as a potential problem.
Wrote simple matlab code to detect the circle representing the eye's pupil from which pixel diameter and thus real diameter is determined.
Discovered that field of view of pupil camera correlates to a constant area no matter how far patient's eye is from camera
Goals for next week:
Test candidate LED color to see if flicker will be a problem [Robert]
Run sample code on sponser's computer to measure processing time to determine ceiling for how many frames/second matlab can process [Wanfang]
Make decision on how we input real-time eye data into Matlab (camera pointing to eye machine? or steal video feed from machine) [wanfang]
Finish research on how to expand current code to operate on real-time video [Jessica]
Determine number of LEDs and distance to eye for prototype. Present light sensor candidate for purchase to group [Lihua]

light source flickering (intensified at low voltages) which makes pupil diameter oscillate
Potential flickering solution of changing AC to DC yet to be fully analyzed (arduino handle DC? Trasnformer after arduino?)
