Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Received all PLC control parts and pressure control valve.
Sent all parts(clamps, cutters, etc.) that need to be fabricated to the machine shop.
All other parts(frames, pneumatic actuators) sent.
Solved the container-shrinking issue.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Report follow-up. (Keyu/Rui/Insik/Alonso)
Finished CAD drawing for the new design(Shrinking problem) for the bottom cutter with the spring mechanism. (Keyu/Rui/Alonso)
Finalized CAD drawing for the clamp, cutter and connecting plates (Keyu/Alonso)
Communicated with manufacturers about the part adjust the horizontal positions for bottom cutters. (Keyu/Rui)
Purchased parts for the new design(Shrinking problem).(Rui)
Started programming for the PLC control(Alonso, Insik)
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Finish the whole assembly for the main frame. (Keyu/Rui/Insik/Alonso)
Finish the assembly for the pneumatic actuators.(Keyu/Rui/Insik/Alonso)
Finish programming for the PLC controls on WindLDR. (Alonso,Insik)
Finish fabricating most parts (clamp, blade, cutter and neck support) (Keyu/Rui/Insik/Alonso)
Test the springs and adjust the extension length when put in the container. (Keyu/Rui/Insik/Alonso)

Mind the rotation of the subframe for the bottom pneumatic slider (In person)
Material for the clamp should not damage the container surface (In person)
Make sure the bottom support (bottom clamp, neck support) can always keep container stay horizontally.(In person)

Risks and Areas of Concern
The roller wheels may have high friction - the bottom pneumatic actuator may not move freely.
The cutter may not align with the edge of the flash - the container may be damaged while cutting.
Reliability and maintain of the top cutting blade - long blade with a small thickness.
Accommodate different geometries.
Bottom shrinking problem.
