Suitable saw for cutting HDPE:
Fast running band and circular saw without teeth
Saw blades with light teeth set (no more than 15mm apart)
Cutting speed: 3000 m/min
Clearance: 10-15 degree
Feed: 0.1-0.3 mm/tooth
Risk Reduction Strategy
Use electric saw of trimming high density and strength plastic materials may cause saw failure.
Saw teeth may leave rough surface after trimming.
High RPM may melt the plastic and release toxic chemical.
York knife may drift while trimming.
Clamping device may damage the container or not hold tightly enough.
Risks of breaking the container while trimming the flash along the side.
