Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Force and motion analysis for cutters and clamp.
Top and bottom cutters' shape finalizing.
Cutting the bottom flash vertically downward with short traveling distance pneumatic sliders.
Designed top rail for sliding three pneumatic sliders (top cutter, clamp, bottom cutter).
Finalized the graphic design of main frames and ordered aluminum bars.
Request for purchasing the pneumatic sliders and the frames.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Completed the CAD drawings of the clamp/block cutter for the symmetrical container (Alonso)
Completed the CAD drawings of the main aluminum frames (Alonso)
Communicated with chef engineer on the final design and the major parts needed (Keyu)
Integrated the CAD drawings with the sliders, actuators, valves and finish a pressure/force analysis (Alonso/Insik/Keyu/Rui)
Finalized the dimension of the main frame (Alonso/Insik/Keyu/Rui)
Discussed purchases with sponsors after finalizing the CAD drawings (Insik)
Purchases of the aluminum frames and sliders (Rui)
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Design mounting positions between sliders and cutters, clamp(Alonso)
Design mounting positions between bottom clamp and mainframes, bottom flash supporting bar (Insik)
Design mounting methods and position between sliders and top rail (Keyu/Rui)
Design safety control modules for pneumatic sliders operation (Insik/Keyu/Rui/Alonso)
Pneumatic sliders' air control valve and tubing selections (Keyu/Rui)

Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Concern about bottom cutter may not cut the flash tangentially to the stands so the container may not stand well after trimming.(in person)
The container may not rigid enough, top clamp may cause bend to the bottom, cutter could overcut the stand (in person)
For bottom cutting, design a T-shape cutter so it would cut the flash on stand first, then the middle flash (in person)
