Diversity Initiative

Diversity Initiative: Edmonds Community College is committed to respecting and appreciating all forms of diversity. The college's mission and philosophy supports campus and community partners in creating a healthy, effective workplace that actively promotes inclusivity, collaboration and social justice while working to overcome institutional racism . ODET partners with college and community stakeholders to create systemic change efforts and coordinate development activities that support these efforts. Examples of development activities include: Undoing Institutional Racism 2-Day Workshop; Snohomish County Freedom School; Cultural Competency for Leaders; Cultural Competency for Hiring Authorities; Creating Culturally Responsive Communities; Allied Training; Multicultural Communication; and Multicultural Conflict Resolution. ODET also participates on the Diversity Council, Committee for Instructional Diversity Committee, and Arts Culture & Civic Engagement Committee.
