Questions to prep for seminar:

You should write short answers for each of these that you can use during tomorrow’s Socratic seminar. If you do not do the prep work, you will not be able to participate in the discussion (you will have a listening assignment).

  1. Was non-violence effective for Gandhi and the people of India?

2. Can the lessons of Gandhi be applied today? What are some specific situations they could be used in?

3. Would non-violence work in any of the African conflict situations we studied last unit?

4. Are there limits to the effectiveness of non-violence? Are there situations where it won’t work?

5. Please write at least three questions that you would like to pose to the class. These questions should require an explanation, not a one or two word answer.
