Journal: Please write about a half page on the following prompt:
Given what you know about the challenges faced in Africa, what do you think the role of the United States and US citizens should be? Should we be providing aid to Africa? As individuals? As the government? Why or why not?
Handed out Africa Test review, due Thursday. Test on Friday. Review is attached.
Handed out articles on Africa Aid. Each person was assigned 1 or 4 articles. Complete the following on your article.
1. As you read, underline or highlight any vocab that you think is essential to understanding the article. If you don’t the word, please look it up and define it.
2. Underline or highlight the thesis of the article.
3. Bracket at least three pieces of evidence or argument that the author uses to back the thesis up.
4. On your own paper:
A. write down the thesis and a basic summary of the author’s point of view
B. List the main arguments made by the author to back this up. You should have three.
C. In a few sentences, write your opinion of the article
