The Most Common Problem

In Google Chrome, there is a world of extensions available to you. Most exist to make your browsing experience better, however, some exist with malicious intent.

If you are experiencing trouble using Google search at school and are told the website is blocked, try disabling unnecessary extensions.

Ensure in the 'Settings' tab of Google Chrome in the 'Search Engine' submenu on the left, that 'google.com.au' is the current search engine used.

Flash Player

Adobe Flash Player is no longer supported and therefore is removed in the Managed Software Install.

Websites with HTML5 negate this need for Adobe Flash Player.

Google's Chrome has built security that is not part of the Schools internet protection. An example of Chromes built in protect is pictured below. To get around this protection if you are sure about the site you can do one of two things.

    1. Use Safari or

    2. In Chrome, click on Advanced when you get this message

3. Then click "Proceed to 'Example Website' (unsafe)" at the bottom of the message
