The Denver Academy Library serves more than 450 second through twelfth-grade students, their parents, and over 100 faculty and staff, providing access to a variety of print and digital materials. Our mission is to provide a safe space where all learners feel supported and seen, to inspire learners to be active contributors to their own education, and to provide an inviting environment that enhances literacy and learning. Our vision is that our library will empower learners to seek ideas, perspectives, and information. We aspire for our students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners.
Databases offering magazine and journal articles as well as ebooks are also available to library patrons, as is access to other local libraries' catalogs. Instruction on the utilization of all library resources is offered to students individually or within groups.
We support our students' work at developing their reading skills through our Hooked on Books programs, both during the school year and in the summer. Prizes are offered for students who reach specific reading "milestones," and students of all reading abilities are honored.
We also work in partnership with many members of our community, including local bookstores and local authors, to offer various programs, book fairs, and events that will enrich students' lives and help develop a love of reading.
Students and teachers are encouraged to use our library catalog to place holds on items.Â
