Khan Academy is a great resource that teachers can use to monitor the progress of their students and provide free, educational resources to their students. SAT preparation need not be solely located on the OSP page. By following a few, simple steps, you can integrate SAT test prep in your pre-established Khan classrooms. There are 3 ways to do this.
Khan Academy has provided a useful slew of new progress tracking tools that will make it much easier to be responsive to Khan generated data. For every single student you are the coach of, the following data points are available:
On your coaching page for your classroom, there are sections that provide you with an aggregated view of the most relevant SAT skills to work on with students. This dashboard will reveal overall trends among your students and will demonstrate where they excel and where there is room for improvement. You can even see directly see groups of students that under or over perform on certain skills and utilize that data to differentiate instruction.
There are many things you can do help ensure the success of Khan Academy in your school. First off, you can explore the student resources available on Khan to familiarize yourself with what students will see by selecting the SAT subject on Khan. You can collaborate with other teachers in your school or other administrators to share strategies and troubleshoot issues together. Third, develop a school action plan with measurable goals for the year and continuously track the progress made on them. Fourth, engage students' families, volunteers, and other community groups to help emphasize the importance of practice.
