Linking, practicing, and analyzing data are essential pieces of ensuring the success of this playbook; however, there is always more that we can do to help ensure the success of our students and enable them to maximize their potential. This section will offer suggestions of actions that can be taken which go above and beyond in terms of facilitating and supporting student growth.

Integrating SAT Coaching Tools into Regular Subjects

Khan Academy is a great resource that teachers can use to monitor the progress of their students and provide free, educational resources to their students. SAT preparation need not be solely located on the OSP page. By following a few, simple steps, you can integrate SAT test prep in your pre-established Khan classrooms. There are 3 ways to do this.

Option 1: Add SAT Cocah Tools to a Regular Subject Class

Select "Add new class".
Name your class and hit next or you can import a class from Google Classroom.
In the subject picker, select the primary subject for your class.
Add students to your class or skip and finish class creation.
Select your new class in the dashboard, and go to the newly created SAT tab.

Option 2: Adjust Settings of Existing Class

Select the relevant class.
Navigate to that class's Settings tab.
Select "Turn on SAT test preparation reporting".
Locate and navigate to the newly created SAT tab in the class.

New Progress Tracking Tools

Khan Academy has provided a useful slew of new progress tracking tools that will make it much easier to be responsive to Khan generated data. For every single student you are the coach of, the following data points are available:

Time practiced for any specific time range
Personal question goal. Each student creates their own practice schedule in which they choose how much time they will study each day; this then gets translated into a personal question goal for the student.
Total practiced questions and the number of those questions that were recommended questions and other questions. Recommended questions are from the skills that the system recommends to a student based on their strengths and weaknesses.
Whether or not the student has connected their account to College Board for personalized recommendations based on past PSAT or SAT exams.

Help Implementation Succeed in Your School

There are many things you can do help ensure the success of Khan Academy in your school. First off, you can explore the student resources available on Khan to familiarize yourself with what students will see by selecting the SAT subject on Khan. You can collaborate with other teachers in your school or other administrators to share strategies and troubleshoot issues together. Third, develop a school action plan with measurable goals for the year and continuously track the progress made on them. Fourth, engage students' families, volunteers, and other community groups to help emphasize the importance of practice.
