Step 1: Goal Setting Meetings
Goal setting meetings are a great time for students to reflect on the progress they have made , look for areas to improve, and begin thinking about college options. In these meetings students and coaches should discuss the following:
- Set a goal for spring testing using the College Board growth norms document
- Clarify student actions steps to achieve goal (hours on Khan, attendance, etc.)
- Utilize a goal setting reflection form to help focus Khan practice
- Consult this chart to get a better general understanding of the student's college options

The CollegeSimply website is a great tool to help students determine college options utilizing their GPS and test scores. It can help students to be realistic about their options, as well as introduce them to different colleges and universities that might be a good fit for them. Use it during goal setting meetings to help emphasize the importance of the SAT in determining college options and scholarships.
