Depicting the essence of a person or animal is a portrait. This can be realistically, abstractly, or symbolically. The main goal is a portrait is not always to make sure the person looks exactly the same, it is to create a semblance to that individual.

- Style: The work needs to be realistic; considering lighting and shading. The reality it exist in can be the same as we live in now or fantastical/dream-like.
