School Culture Mural

For our large mural on the side of the gym, students wanted to create an artwork that would express what it means to be a student here in Rogers Park at Chicago Math and Science Academy. Using symbolism, a story of a titan overcoming is darkness is depicted as he pulls strength from a range of animals that represent virtues of different cultures across the globe. Students are looking to the work of PichiAvo as inspiration in their use of color and imagery.

Mosaic tiling will be used to create a Greco-Roman archway framing the graffiti style mural. The archway will be supported by depictions of 4 historical figures that symbolism education and enlightenment from 4 different continents.
