Students will be running the spring mile outdoors weather permitting. This will be weaved in and out of Softball/Wiffleball until all classes have completed the mile.
Weather permitting, students will be outdoors playing Softball. Indoors will be wiffleball.
Objectives:
Students will demonstrate sports skills and motor movements of...
batting, running bases, catching/fielding, pitching, passing, sportsmanship and peer support.
Grade level focus areas:
5th/6th graders will focus on their batting/catching/passing skills and basic rules and sportsmanship.
7th and 8th graders are refining their knowledge of sports skills by making more strategic plays, displaying solid demonstration of the rules, including a force play and base running after a field catch.
For safety reasons the rules are modified to enforce no leading, stealing, sliding or bunting. All students must participate meaningfully at bat and in the outfield.
Students must dress for the weather. We will use Eliot bats, however, students may bring their own glove from home if they choose. We do have gloves. We need donations for lefty student gloves! Thank you.
