Synergy Class Mission Statement:

Contemporary Music Ensemble is basically a school rock band that was started to give students who play the guitar and drum set a chance to perform other styles of music than the concert band. The group is coached by the instructor in a more informal setting than other “typical” school ensembles. Contemporary Music Ensemble is a hands-on lab class. The students re-create their own covers of popular songs, and are encouraged to write original compositions. Students will learn how to create lead sheets so that they can communicate with other musicians regardless of wether or not they are able to read standard music notation.
