Concert Band Class Mission Statement:
All students will learn and perform a well-balanced and varied selection of wind band literature, and by doing so, each student will also have the opportunity to become more proficient on his or her own instrument. This will take place in an inviting classroom atmosphere for all students, regardless of ability level. The primary focus of the course will be to promote creativity, discipline, and excellence through music, all valuable skills for students to have as they enter into a 21st century global economy. It is my sincere belief that music and the benefits of studying it are a necessary component of the educational process for all students, not just those who society has deemed “naturally talented”. The opportunity to audition for PMEA and County Music Festivals will be made available for those students who want a more challenging musical experience. Concert band is open to sudents in grades 4-12.
Grading
Concert Band is based on participation and concert attendance. Student must have their instrument, music, and any other supplies needed for playing.

Concerts
Students will perform two concerts each year, a spring and fall concert. Music for each concert can be found on the Google Classroom. Dates for concerts will be posted at a later date.
Festivals
Students enrolled in concert band have the opprituinity to participate in multiple festivals thoughout the year such as PMEA, County Band, Regional Band, State Band, Band Fest, and more.
