Our first Robot challenge was a slalom. We had to use our knowledge of our practice lessons to create a knew code to move our robot around five markers on the floor. We started by going in a straight line and stopped around half-way before the second marker. Then we had to use positive measurements to turn right. Next, we had to go forward to half-way before the third marker. Then we had to use negative measurements to turn left. We then realized we could repeat the same steps, depending on which way the robot was turning, and just adjust the measurements and rotations accordingly. Our measurements ended up being close to the same or the same. To turn left we had to use negative measurements and to turn right we had to use positive measurements. This project was about breaking down the steps we first learned and interpreted these skills into a challenge. I learned how to turn left and right using a robot, go straight, and how to use basic skills and form them into a greater project.
