We had to build a balsa wood airplane using small and skinny popsicle sticks in different colors, tissue paper, a propeller, rubber bands, and a long skinny piece of wood. We started out by cutting different size squares to make the plane, then added tissue paper to the squares. The squares were glued together. Then we attached the squares to the long, skinny stick using rubber bands and added a propeller at the end of the wood. Then we added a pin near the end of the wood and rapped a rubber band around a loop in the propeller and the pin. We were then able to fly but had to make sure the middle wing was in place because if it wasn't it could create drag behind the plane causing the plane to go down or slow down, or it could create thrust which is going forward. The plane could also have too much gravity causing the plane to go down or to much lift causing it to go up and eventually back down. I learned that all of the four forces of flight have a factor in allowing the plane to fly without crashing.
