We created two projects using 3-d printing one was useful, and the other was creative. We used tinkercad, a website, to create the design for the objects. My first object I created was a chick. I created a chick using different shapes such as a four spheres in different sizes to create the eyes and body. Then I added feet to the sphere and added a beak using a triangle. After completing the design we used a 3-d printer and downloaded the design to create the object. I learned to use the work plane in order to make the different shapes become one object.
My useful design was a coster. I created a coster by using a a cylinder and almost flattening it. I then added a big s and made holes of the letters n and c. I created a NC State coster. Then I went to a 3-d printer and downloaded the design and created the coster. I learned that an object that is larger takes longer to print, and you can make holes in your designs in anything from letters to all types of shapes.
