Continued study of grammar and vocabulary of the Spanish language and study of the Spanish-speaking cultures. Emphasis on speaking, reading, and writing skills.
Prerequisites: (A grade of C or better in SPA101 or SPA101AA), or permission of Department or Division. Completion of prerequisites within the last three years is required.

Overview:
This is the continuing study of the Spanish language with a communicative approach that stresses four basic language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. You will be able to express your own ideas in Spanish and interact with others meaningfully and for real-life purposes. This course makes emphasis on frequently used vocabulary and it also introduces grammar as a tool for effective communication. The culture of Spanish-speaking countries is also a required component for this course.
Course Objectives:
Use intermediate Spanish grammar and vocabulary in a contextual approach.
Develop your communicative skills in Spanish.
Increase your language proficiency through four skills: listening, speaking, writing and reading.
Expand your cultural awareness on the Spanish-speaking communities around the world.
Course Competencies:
Demonstrate comprehension of written and oral passages that include narration in the past, present, or future, emotional reactions, current events, instructions, and commands.
Compose written passages that include narration in the past, present, or future, emotional reactions, instructions, and commands.
Ask and answer oral questions to narrate in the past, present, or future, express emotional reactions, give instructions and commands, and participate in simple conversations.
Recognize and describe key social and cultural traditions in areas where the target language is spoken/used.
