Certificate Endorsement

NCEA can be gained with Merit or Excellence, 50 or more credits at excellence level will result in NCEA endorsed with Excellence and 50 or more credits at merit level will result in NCEA endorsed with Merit.

Course Endorsement

You can gain an endorsement for a course if in a single school year you gain 14 or more credits at Merit or Excellence and at least three of these credits are from external standards and three from internal standards. Note, this internal and external credits requirement does not apply to Physical Education or Level 3 Visual Arts, an endorsement for these subjects can also be gained through all internals or all externals.
