PTC PARENT FORUM: RAISING ANTI-RACIST KIDS: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17th, 6:30pm VIA ZOOM

Join us next week for the PTC's virtual Parent Forum: Raising Anti-Racist Kids - How to Start Conversations with Young Kids about Race. The workshop will be led by Ellie Axe, Director of Story Starters, who will use the framework of our One School, One Book book to provide participants with an overview of the research on race and kids and will teach parents practical ways to start having conversations about race and racism with their children. Participants will walk away with concrete actions they can take in their own home to start to prepare children to navigate our diverse world.

We encourage families to purchase copies of The Power of One to include in home libraries and to reference this year as our students read it in school as well. (The Amazon ordering page can be reached by clicking the book title above.)

Please RSVP for this exciting event by filling out this form.

We look forward to having you join us!

SUBMIT PICTURES FOR THE 2021-2022 YEARBOOK! THE YEARBOOK STAFF INVITES YOU TO SUBMIT YOUR PHOTOS

Hope the school year is off to a good start! In order to create a yearbook for all to enjoy, we will need YOUR HELP! We will be asking for photographs of your children taking part in all sorts of Broadmeadow activities. Feel free to upload your pictures at any time, not just when we ask for them. You will be able to upload pictures through the middle of March, however, since the yearbook is a constant work in progress, we would love it if you would upload photos as events happen.

Our first request is for you to submit your pictures from:

1) THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

2) WALK TO SCHOOL DAY

Please submit only one clear picture for your child. If you have multiple children, you are welcome to submit one picture of all of your children, or a separate photo of each child.

Here is how you can submit photos online:

  1. Go to: https://images.memoryebooks.com/416865977

  2. If it does not automatically log you into the site, enter username: 416865977

  3. Browse your photos to select the photo(s) you wish to upload. Please be selective.

  4. Enter information about the photo and provide contact information in case the staff needs additional information.

  5. Click "Save Details".

Yearbooks will go on sale in February, details to come!

If you have questions or are interested in joining the Yearbook staff, please contact Lisa Nagler at yearbook@broadmeadowptc.org. Thank you!

BROADMEADOW LOST & FOUND PADLET

The Lost and Found Padlet displays photos of lost items that have been collected in the building. New photos will appear at the top of the Padlet as items are found.

Click on the link above to take a look and see if you recognize any of the items as belonging to your child. If you do recognize an item, please click on 'add comment" and provide your child's name and teacher, and the staff will happily deliver the item to your child's classroom the next time they are in the building. You may also go to the school and pick items up directly. Just enter your name in the 'add comment' section along with your intention to stop by. Ring the bell when you arrive and a staff member will walk the item out to you.
