Announcements

Here's a quick view of what's going on at Broadmeadow! For information on what's going on in Needham, check out the Community News.

JOIN THE WINTER WALK & ROLL TO SCHOOL DAY - WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 2

These boots are made for walking and that's just what they'll do on Wednesday, February 2nd! Join students around Massachusetts for the coolest Walk & Roll to School Day of the year. Start your child's day off with some fresh air, a little exercise, and a sense of community. It's a great chance to arrive at school refreshed, alert and energized!

Walkers will receive a sticker and will get to sign a poster that will be displayed in the school lobby. Limited safety swag available for early birds. Students who roll to school on a bus will be given an opportunity to participate before heading to class.

We are looking for a few volunteers from 8am - 8:20am on Wednesday to help give out stickers and help kids sign the poster at three of the school's entrances. Please email Maggie Shapiro at wellness@broadmeadowptc.org to volunteer.

BROADMEADOW SPRING FUNDRAISER - AUCTION ITEMS NEEDED!

Planning is well underway for the PTC’s Spring Social fundraiser, A Day at the Races, which will take place in May 2022 at the VFW. We are doing our best to ensure this event happens In-Person by ensuring an outdoor component. We are so excited to celebrate with everyone as we raise funds for our school, and we need your help!

This event provides funding that directly helps the PTC enhance our children’s education through curriculum enrichment programs, community building events, as well as media and technology purchases.

We are planning to raise that money in several ways -- including an online auction ahead of the event, which will be open to all Broadmeadow families, as well as through corporate sponsorships. There are many ways for you to get involved in our fundraising efforts:

  • Does your business or family have access to sporting event tickets you could donate?

  • Does your family own a vacation home where you could donate a weekend getaway?

  • Does your business provide a service you could donate?

  • Would your family or business consider a monetary donation?

  • Do you or a friend own a local business that may be interested in a corporate sponsorship, including signage and name recognition at the event?

Please consider a donation to this important cause! All responses and questions can be sent to Kate McKiernan: robertson1978@hotmail.com

General questions about the Spring Social? Contact our Fundraising Coordinators Alex Young and Kate McKiernan at fundraising@broadmeadowptc.org.

BROADMEADOW CARES: THANK YOU CARDS FOR HEALTHCARE HEROES - JAN. 31st - FEB. 11th

The PTC is excited to once again initiate a card making campaign for the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Needham staff!

As healthcare workers continue to face extremely tough challenges during this COVID surge, we want to show our support and appreciation for our healthcare heroes by collecting cards of thanks for the staff at BID Needham.

Students should bring their cards to school and place them in the drop box that will be located in the lobby from January 31st through February 11th.

Thank you for your help in supporting this meaningful project. We have no doubt that the cards will bring a smile to these hardworking healthcare heroes! For questions, please contact Carrie Leto at carrieleto1@gmail.com.

DONATE GIFT CARDS TO HELP BROADMEADOW FAMILIES

One way that Broadmeadow School has worked to support families is by providing gift cards to families in need. As the winter months approach, this need tends to grow. Recently these gift cards have been used to purchase urgent items such as food and clothing. Many families have asked how they can continue to support our community and donations of gift cards to local supermarkets or stores that provide helpful items such as Target would be greatly appreciated. These gift cards are made available to families via our administration staff and guidance team, and can be sent in with your student.
