4TH & 5TH GRADE SPELLING BEE! - THURSDAY, MAY 19TH

What’s all the BUZZ about? The Broadmeadow 4th/5th Grade Spelling Bee IS BACK! Join the fun and register for the 4th/5th Grade Spelling Bee on Thursday, May 19, 6:30 - 8 pm.

4th and 5th graders in teams of 2-3 will spell and teachers will judge! ALL teams win PRIZES and the winning team will be featured on the marquee outside of Broadmeadow. Students may sign up as a team with students from their grade or request to be assigned a team.

A registration form was sent home with your child (you can also print and submit the form). Each student must complete a registration form with a parent signature to participate. Register by Tuesday, May 3.

The spelling bee is a FUN event where students compete in teams of two or three and may sign up as a team or request to be assigned a team. In advance, teams will be given a spelling guide from which the words will be chosen. In each round, all teams will be asked to spell the same word on a whiteboard. After time is up, each team will hold up its word for the judges to check spelling. Winners of 4th and 5th grade rounds will advance to a Championship round.

For questions or more information, please contact Trish Tobin, Marianna Drootin, or Jenn Strom at spellingbee@broadmeadowptc.org.

DONATE GIFT CARDS TO HELP BROADMEADOW FAMILIES

One way that Broadmeadow School has worked to support families is by providing gift cards to families in need. As the winter months approach, this need tends to grow. Recently these gift cards have been used to purchase urgent items such as food and clothing. Many families have asked how they can continue to support our community and donations of gift cards to local supermarkets or stores that provide helpful items such as Target would be greatly appreciated. These gift cards are made available to families via our administration staff and guidance team, and can be sent in with your student.

IN-PERSON VOLUNTEERING DURING MEDIA

Media Center volunteers are being welcomed back to Broadmeadow! Click here for more information about the exciting opportunity to volunteer in person during the school day, including volunteer requirements, schedule and links to sign up for time slots.

BROADMEADOW LOST & FOUND PADLET

The Lost and Found Padlet displays photos of lost items that have been collected in the building. New photos will appear at the top of the Padlet as items are found.

Click on the link above to take a look and see if you recognize any of the items as belonging to your child. If you do recognize an item, please click on 'add comment" and provide your child's name and teacher, and the staff will happily deliver the item to your child's classroom the next time they are in the building. You may also go to the school and pick items up directly. Just enter your name in the 'add comment' section along with your intention to stop by. Ring the bell when you arrive and a staff member will walk the item out to you.
