Overview: Through the use of inquiry, research, artifacts, primary source analysis, and multiple representations of texts, students continue their study of United States history of the 20th and 21st centuries. They learn about the economic history of the Great Depression, New Deal, World War II, and the Cold War, concluding with an examination of domestic and global policies and politics in the 21st century. Essential and supporting questions guide and stimulate teachers’ and students’ own questions for discussion and research.
To begin the year, please explore the resources for an Identity and Community unit helping classrooms explore the question "What is the identity of my community, and how do I fit into it?".
