We had our Chinese New Year celebration on Monday, Feb. 8th. Mr. Todd’s class took the dragon for a parade around the school. Almost all the kids in the whole school lined up in the hallway to welcome the dragon and received the good luck the dragon brought us. I felt like I was back on the crowded street in Taiwan with all the kids clapping and giggling. It was so much fun for me!
All the students did a great job in the Monday afternoon assembly. Many parents were not aware of the assembly time. I am sorry that I did not communicate enough. I will remember to send reminder flyers next time.
The 3rd graders had a fun learning lunch on Wednesday. So many parents came to help with making dumplings. I hope that everyone had enjoyed my recipe and had fun with the paper cutting project.
The students now have a fun Chinese Zodiac packet. They can color the pictures and can create different art project with these images. I am leaving them lots of room to be creative and use these materials. They have these packets in their Chinese folders and the folder will be going home during conference week.
