I hope everyone is finally settling into a nice routine at school. We have lots of new activities in my classroom. Students have been practicing sitting in assigned seats because so many classes have so many students this year! Students are also practicing doing their jobs at their table.
We began reviewing Moon Festival this week. Moon Festival is one of the most important holidays for Chinese all around the world. Moon Festival is on different days each year because Chinese have used the Lunar Calendar for centuries. All the traditional holidays are still celebrated according to the Lunar Calendar dates.
The list here has the dates of Moon Festivals. We will have some moon cakes to try next week. I originally planned to serve the moon cakes this week but I have been very sick and thought it would be safer to serve the treat when I am healthy.
