Predictive Typing and AutoPick Functions
With the Predictive typing option suggestions from the term base appear as you type, as do suggestions from the list of automatically-translated elements like numbers and dates, and elements that you have indicated should not be translated (memoQ calls these auto-translatables and non-translatables). We can select these terms with the cursor and insert them into the text by pressing the Enter key, without having to type them out fully.
The AutoPick option is similar: pressing the Ctrl key in the target segment shows a list of numbers, tags, URLs, and upper-case words from the source segment (you can select just some of these options to appear if you wish).
If you want to use these features, activate them in Translation/Translation Settings/Predictive Typing and AutoPick, within the corresponding tab.
Marks and comments
As well as adding comments to sentences (Translation/Comment or Ctrl+M), now you can also highlight text in various colours. Go to Translation/Mark Text and then choose from the four options (Information, Warning, Error and Other).
In order to remove the highlight just select it, right click, and choose Delete comment.
These marks and commentaries are for the translator’s use only, and in no case may be used to communicate questions or doubts to project managers or clients.
Automatic opening of exported file
memoQ can open documents automatically when they are exported.
This option can be activated or deactivated by clicking on the little cogs button on the top left of the screen and then selecting Miscellaneous/Import-export:
