If you have followed the instructions in the Handoffs or Online projects sections, you are almost ready to begin working with memoQ. We have put together some basic instructions on this page to enable you to do your translation. If you need more information, please visit Kilgray's website and download the corresponding help or guide file.
When you open the programme and the specific project, you will see the following screen:
Here you will see the role you have been assigned: translator or reviewer. To begin working, all you need to do is double click on the file or you can access the Open for translation option in the lower middle column to open the work screen, which looks like this:
The lower section of Area 3 displays completed segments that have been found in the memory: the first text box shows the segment that is to be translated and displays the differences when compared to the segment that has been found; the second text box displays what was found in the memory and shows the differences when compared to the text to be translated; and the last text box shows the translation that was found (which can be recovered and modified in Area 2).
If you want to include any of the options from Area 3 into the translation you are working on, all you need to do is press Ctrl and the corresponding number.
For information about what the colours mean beside each segment, go to the Colours and meanings section.
For information about how to validate sentences and other recommendations, go to Basic instructions.
