In this introductory lesson you will learn how to use Audacity to create a simple podcast.
By the end of the lesson you should be able to record your audio and be able to export the file in a suitable format.
This lesson you will continue to develop your skills of using the software Audacity. You will learn what is sound is and what is meant by the term sampling rate. The lessons activities will require you to use some features of audacity to re-order two of the audio files.
Teacher PPT you can Use Google Chrome Music Lab to create your own music. Then press save to download it as a WAV. You will then need to drag it into Audacity.
In the lesson today you will begin to create your podcast. You can choose to base your podcast on a topic of your choice. If you need some inspiration you can choose one of the options below.
All of the podcasts must be 1-2 minutes long and include a jingle at the start and end.
Option 1:
You need to create a radio advert for Alice Smith School, this will be played to the Year 6 students currently at JB.
The radio advert needs to advertise the range of subjects and extracurricular activities that the KLASS offers.
Include a jingle (a short piece of music at the start and end)
An interview of a student/ member of staff
The audio clip needs to be between 1 minute to 2 minutes long.
Option 2:
You need to create a podcast, which reviews either a movie, TV show, game, or book.
It should include:

Rating out of 10

The focus of this lesson is to understand the implications of the copyright designs and patent act. You will explore how to use the creative commons search website to ensure that the assets you collect comply with the copyright legislation.
You will then have the opportunity to record your chosen podcast.

This lesson you are continuing working on your podcast. You will need to use your script to ensure that everyone knows what they will need to say. The success criteria can be found here. To make a podcast easy to follow it could follow a format like this:
Show intro (who you are, what you’re going to talk about)
Intro music (repeat for each show so listeners identify the jingle with your show):seconds
Topic 1: 45 seconds
Topic 2: 45 seconds
Interlude (music or break, this is optional):
Topic 3: 30 seconds
Closing remarks (thank audience, thank guests, talk about the next show)
