1920s through the Changing American Culture of the '50s and '60 (Block class)
The study of history allows us to evaluate many political decisions, people in the United States according to how they impacted individuals socially, economically, politically and cultura
lly. In US History II, these major events, starting in the 1920s, will be dissected and viewed through the lenses of poor farmers, factory workers, soldiers, immigrants, Japanese-Americans, and African-Americans.
We will also look at the U.S. from a wider angle to understand its involvement in significant global conflicts. We will use a myriad of artistic media to interpret perspectives of these earlier decades of the 20th century including: paintings, photographs, murals, shows, political cartoons, and jazz/blues music and radio recordings.
Students may only take this course once.
