Upload Assets / Version Assets / Filenaming
Upload an asset by clicking the "Upload Media" button at the top right of the interface and select the asset(s) you wish to contribute.
Assets will upload as you work on the metadata. They will commit to Bynder only if you click "Store Selected Files"
Add metadata by selecting the values that apply to the assets from the left panel or selecting them on the asset. You can add fields to the assets by clicking the "eye" icon to the right of the field.
Required fields are limited to 3 to ease contribution into Bynder.

It is best to fill out as much metadata as possible. Try to be inclusive of all values that apply. The platform is only as good as the data within it.
Find the asset you would like to update and click on the thumbnail to go into the asset details.
Click on the Versions tab and "Click to add a file". Select the file to replace the current version.
Once the version has completed uploading. Rename the asset in the "Edit" tab to reflect the current version letter (or number). You can also update any of the metadata in the "Edit" tab.
As long you change the Name of the asset along with your update, the file will be automatically updated where ever it is exposed.
To revert to an older version, go to the versions tab and select the version you wish to revert to. Rename the asset to push the change.
Best practices for filenaming:
All filenames should have a prefix of "10x_" to indicate more broadly that it is a 10x asset when looking in your file system
Include a unique ID - Arena ID or project number for example
The underscore is the only acceptable special character. Apostrophes, periods, semicolon, dashes, parentheses etc. should not be included in the filename as it will impact search.
Include any version letters or numbers
Include product and asset subtype if possible
Include a very abbreviated subject
Try to keep the filenames as short as you can
To ensure the asset is limited to those with unreleased access, it is best to do set the metadata as part of your upload. Any asset will be in a released state by default and there could be a window in which an unreleased asset is consumed.
To hold the asset in an unreleased state, within the asset details, edit the metadata.
Scroll down to 'Advanced Rights'
Check the 'Limited usage' box
You can choose between:
"Now" - hold the asset unreleased indefinitely. Requires the contributor to manually uncheck Limited usage to release the asset
"until" - holds the asset unreleased until the specified date in the "until" field. Double check that you have set up your timezone in your profile to ensure your release time.
Use a release time before the top of the hour (e.g. 11:57) to ensure the asset is part of the top of the hour batch, otherwise it will be picked up at the next top of the hours (if you use 11:00 it wont trigger until 12:00)
Click save
For new versions, do the steps above before uploading the new asset and changing the filename.
Keep in mind users on Bynder will lose access to the current version until the new version is released.
