Share internally with another Bynder user

Share a single asset

To share an asset with another Bynder user, simply copy the URL within asset details page of the asset you would like to share. (click on the thumbnail of an asset to enter the asset details).

Permissions - 

Assets where the "Status" is set to unreleased/deprecated/expired are only accessible to other collaborators

Assets designated as "Design files" are only accessible to other marketing creatives and select distributors

Distributors cannot access assets tagged for "Internal use only" in the Distribution field

Share a collection with Bynder users

Click the "Share button" and then click "Share with specific people". 

Type a specific user in the "Who has access" field to stage them in the collection. Alternatively, you can share with whole groups such as "General Users" or "Collaborators"

Specify they type of access you want to give those users in the "Recipients can:" field:

View Collection - can only view the assets within the Bynder collection

Download - can download asset from the Bynder collection

Download assets with watermark - can download assets from the Bynder collection but they will be watermarked

Manage Collection - can add and remove assets as well as share with others

Optionally send an email and/or add a release and expiration to automatically grant and remove access depending on the dates set.

Please share your collections with the "Collection Manager" group as "Manage Collection" for added admin support

Share Externally

Public Link

You can generate a public link (accessible by anyone, but not discoverable via search engine) for any asset if there is not one created already.

To generate a public link (requires collaborator permissions), go into the asset details of the asset you would like to share. On the Edit tab, scroll down to "Advanced Rights" and check "Mark as public". A popup window will ask for confirmation.

To find the public link, go to Info tab and scroll to the bottom where you will find a public link to both the original file (the file as it was uploaded or converted to a PDF in the case of a pptx) and the preview (a thumbnail).

The public link can be accessed by anyone and will update to the newest version or whichever version is selected.

Share a collection externally

You can generate a collection public link (accessible by anyone, but not discoverable via search engine) for any collection you manage.

To generate a collection public link (requires collaborator permissions), go into the collection you would like to share. Click on the "Share" button and then click "Create link". Refresh the page and you will see a share link at the bottom of the left panel.

Edit the access of the link by clicking the share button once more, and click "Edit link". By default, users are required to login and are only allowed to view the collection (not download). Change these settings in this window by unchecking "Require login" and changing the access to what you would like the users to be able to do:

View Collection - can only view the assets within the Bynder collection

Download - can download asset from the Bynder collection

Download assets with watermark - can download assets from the Bynder collection but they will be watermarked

Optionally, add release and expiration to automatically grant and remove access depending on the dates set.

Copy the share link from the bottom of the left panel or from the "Share link settings".

You can point users directly to an asset within the externally shared collection by opening your share link (preferably in incognito to be sure there are no access restrictions), going into the asset details, and copying the URL of that asset within the collection. Keep in mind, users will have access to the whole collection, not just that one asset.
