Thank-you for your support of Northridge Schools. We appreciate our volunteers who help make the district a great place for students to learn and grow. In order to ensure the safety of our students and staff, we require background checks for our volunteers. Volunteering in the classroom, on field trips or for overnight trips requires a background check within the last 3 years. We have partnered with Background Investigation Bureau, BIB, to provide a more efficient and less costly way for our parents to complete the background check process. The district is implementing a new background check system. It is called BIB and the cost to the individual is $16.95, which is significantly cheaper than the current SLED check. The application process is online and payment is also made online. This check is required for all Level II volunteers, however, if you have a current SLED check you do not need the BIB check until your SLED check expires. Some of the benefit of the BIB background check is that not only is it cheaper, but it conducts a nationwide search. BIB will send the approved applicant a letter and identification card and will notify the school and the parent when the background check expires. For more information check out the district website.
