James T. Briggs (Jimmy)

James Thomas Briggs died March 5, 1991, in Lakeport, California, from cancer of the throat.

He was born September 11, 1947, in Iowa City, to George "Snooks" and Ruby (Goodwin) Rhamy Briggs. He lived most of his life in Villisca, and he was a member of the Class of 1966 for many years. He moved to California with his family shortly before his death.

He was survived by his wife, Laura, and his daughter, Jamie, of Lakeport in addition to his daughter, Patricia, and son, Joseph, of Oceanside, California. He was also survived by his brothers and sisters, Kenneth Briggs of Ridgecrest, California; Merl Briggs of Lakeport, California; Darrell Rhamy of Lebanon, Oregon; Ray Rhamy of Susanville, California; Agnes Graham and Bonnie Telschow, both Red Oak; Bertha Squires and Wanda Dozier, both of Nodaway; and Thelma Rhamy of Susanville, California.

He was buried at the Guss Maple Grove Cemetery in Guss, Iowa.
